Primate Safari

Day 1: Meet and greet and journey to Bwindi for Gorilla trekking

Our 4 days Uganda safari starts in the morning meet and greet your driver-guide and after a short briefing head for the ultimate lifetime experience of the world’s most endangered species, the mountain gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable National park.

Our drive is long one but is a scenic journey, passing through drum making villages, stopping for photography at the equator line, in addition to driving though ankole region for a chance of spoting the unique long horned cattle on the way before breaking off for lunch at Igongo Cultural center in Mbarara the land of the milk.

After lunch, continue driving through beautifully terraced hills of the west before arriving at our lodge in Bwindi for the overnight. Check-in at either luxury; Silverback Lodge, Mid-range; Haven lodge or Budget; Bwindi View Lodge

Day 2: Gorilla trekking Expedition

Today wake up for a lifetime adventure experience, After breakfast get equipped with enough drinking water, packed lunch as we don’t know how much time we might take during the trek. We assemble at the park headquarters for briefing from the head of Rangers, getting a gorilla family group, and meeting trek mates. You will be allocated to groups of 8 trekkers to visit one gorilla family that day.

You will enter the rain forest in the company of armed ranger guide looking for the few remaining Mountain gorillas; the trek can take between 1-8 hours searching for these gentle giants in the wild, spend an hour with the gorillas once you find them, take enough pictures and video clips before coming back to the park for graduation and resting back to the lodge.

Day 3: Journey to Kibale forest national park

Following your breakfast, drive to Kibale forest national park, passing through Queen Elizabeth national park. On a lucky day elephants, tree-climbing lions, different antelope species, buffaloes are seen on this drive in addition to many primates such as; black and white Colobus, red-tailed monkeys, baboons, blue monkey, and many more others. A remarkable change in vegetation as you drive from forest to super open savanna where much game can be seen.

Continue through Kasese town, in western Uganda popular for the copper mines, coffee growing, and cotton before getting to Fort Portal. Continue as you enjoy the beautiful sceneries of the landscape later through the forest. On arrival at our lodge in Kibale National park, we check-in at either Luxury; Papaya Lake lodge, Mid-range; Isunga Lodge, Budget; Lake Nkuruba Safari lodge.

Day 4: Chimpanzee Trekking and other primates tracking

After your early breakfast, report for registration at Kanyancu visitor center in Kibale forest national park you will be briefed about Dos and Don’ts of Chimp tracking and after you will enter the forest searching for our closest cousins {chimpanzee} following their tracks and vocalization.

On finding Chimps, you will be allowed to spend strictly one hour in their amidist interaction with them watch them socialize and take as many pictures as possible and after return back to the visitor center to say farewell to this rain forest national park which is home to 13 different primate species, the highest of any forest in Africa. Embark on a five to six hour journey to Kampala or Entebbe with your Lunch on the way Arriving the evening.
